Privacy & data
Last updated: 29 September 2026
Farha is a free family-activities guide for Qatar. We collect as little personal data as we can. This page explains what we keep, why, who helps us run the app, and how you can control it.
Who we are
Farha is run by the Farha team. To ask a question or use your rights, write to the team e-mail address shown at the bottom of this page.
What we collect
- On your phone only (never sent to us): your language, favourites, saved plans, checklists, recently viewed places and, if you don't sign in, your family profile.
- If you sign in: your e-mail address (or the Google / Apple account identifier), your children's age groups (for example 4–7; never names or birth dates), your neighbourhood, your favourites and your reviews.
- If you post a review or report a mistake: what you write, and the account it came from if you were signed in.
- If you propose an activity or ask to become a partner: the details you type in the form, including the contact you give us.
- If you subscribe to the weekend letter (a box you tick yourself, or the button in your Saved tab): the e-mail address of your account and your language, used only to send that letter. Every letter has a one-tap unsubscribe link.
- If you turn on notifications: a technical address from your browser that lets us send you the weekly notification.
- Your location: only if you tap “Near me” and allow it in your browser. Your position stays on your device; we do not send it to our servers or store it.
- Which buttons are tapped on a listing (Call, Website, Book, Map). These counts are anonymous and are used for partner reports.
What we do not do
- No advertising, no tracking pixels, no data sold or shared for marketing.
- No names or photos of children are ever asked for.
Why we use it
- To run the app and keep your favourites and family profile on every phone.
- To check reviews and reports before publishing and to fix mistakes in listings.
- To reply to activity proposals and partner requests.
- To send the notifications you asked for.
- To suggest day-out and birthday ideas with the AI planner.
Who helps us (service providers)
These providers may process data on servers outside Qatar. We only send them what is needed for their job.
- Supabase: database, sign-in and photo storage.
- Vercel: hosting of the app.
- Resend: e-mails that carry your reports and proposals to the team.
- Anthropic: the AI planner. Only the choices you make (age groups, mood, budget…) are sent, never your name, e-mail or location.
How long we keep it
Account data is kept until you delete your account. Reports and proposals are kept while we act on them, then deleted or anonymised. You can clear the data on your phone at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser.
Your rights
Under the PDPPL you can ask to see your data, correct it, have it deleted, or withdraw your consent, and you can complain to the National Data Privacy Office of Qatar. Write to us and we will answer within a reasonable time.
Children
Farha is meant for parents. We do not knowingly collect data directly from children.
Changes
If we change this page we will update the date above.
